In the Steampunk genre people tend to use the early industrial dress from England. I thought along that line, Sailor Moon would not be dressed in a mini skirt. Yet, what kind of Kimono would it be. I researched and I realized the scientific aspect to steampunk would go against the popular kimono form during that period in Japan; it is a design : that did not allow much movement, that is too flamboyant for heavy duty activity, most known to the modern common populace. My Sailor Moon steampunk is functional or traditional in most wares; her hair is the traditional long and simple, not complex wrapped; her kimono is the traditional for women, using a pantaloon style in the bottom to allow for regular usage; her jacket is long allowing for an item or more to be stored; her shoes are sneakers or boots [you tell me] a more efficient shoe than the wooden clod hoppers; I gave her sailor bow as a stylish accoutrement. Keeping to the tech, her cat is a robot.
